Another Christmas

December 26, 2021

Good morning my friends.  Here we are; it’s the day after Christmas, beginning of Kwanzaa, last Sunday of December and 2021.  The New Year, and 2022, are right around the corner.  It’s crazy thinking we’ve been stuck in the crazy confines of “2020” for so long.  We made some progress in 2021, but larger steps beyond the pandemic are much needed.  I’m ready to move on with my life and do some travelling across the planet.  Are you ready to put covid behind us and progress into the future?  The mask mandates, virus injections, political control and manipulations should be put to rest.  If you feel it’s in your best interest to utilize extra precautions, please do so.  Don’t force everyone else to follow suit because of your beliefs or fear.  I’m tired of rehashing this topic, but someone has to discuss it, instead of pretending it isn’t happening.  Let the world enjoy life, and begin living again.  Humans can’t control nature, life or the universe; although we waste a lot of time trying.  I know it can be a difficult concept for some individuals to wrap their mind around.  Sometimes you just have to trust God and the universe.  Life is messy and never perfect.  It’s much easier to move forward and live in peace and harmony when you accept that fact.

I hope you took the time be present; to enjoy and celebrate the Holiday Season (Hanukkah, Christmas, Kwanzaa or whatever your traditional holidays may be) with the people you love.  The population on this planet is made up of all kinds of individuals.  We may look a little different, come from various cultures, nationalities, religious affiliations or heritages, but we’re all human beings.  If you put us all together, you’ll discover none of us are exactly the same.  We are each unique, special and individual beings.  Even if you are from the same family, culture, nationality or religious background; you will see differences among us all.  As humans, we each have our own individual personality, appearance, beliefs, ideas and perspectives.  Even “identical twins” will have differences.  The variations among us all make for a mixed up, interesting and diverse world.  If we were all exactly the same it would be a very dull and boring planet.  Unique and creative differences is what makes our universe fun, exciting and vibrant.  Embrace our world and all life on it.  This is the only place we have to live, so don’t mess it up.  I want this floating rock to be here for many more generations.  It should be a safe place; of freedom and harmony; for all humans and our kids and their kids, etc.

We know life has challenges, struggles and situations out of our control.  Life can mimic the oceans; with highs, lows, still waters or rough.  It is an ever changing body of motion.  Events can often times be challenging to deal with, adapt to or overcome.  Whether the seas are turbulent or calm, there are times we may experience difficulty to keep our head above water.  You can’t always fight the current no matter how hard you try.  It’s often best to let it carry you to smoother waters.  Don’t fear or resist the changes.  The days filled with serenity, or little resistance, are the times we can just relax and flow through whatever the sea brings our way.  Life is best when we find our own strength, self-confidence and believe in our abilities to conquer whatever stands in our way.  This is the place where we discover bliss.  The serenity we achieve brings us to a place where we truly want to be.  When I free my thoughts of negativity or anxiety, I allow my mind the opportunity to bask in tranquility.  This place of peace allows me to enjoy life without inhibitions or limitations.  The best part of life, is living in happiness.  I make that choice with each new sunrise.  It’s an easy decision for us all to make.

Beyond the turmoil or trauma I experience from time to time, I remain a happy and positive person.  My heart, mind, body and soul are filled with love, kindness and patience.  My mindful attitude helps in my healing.  I feel better with me every day.  It’s important to understand and love yourself; so, you can truly love others.  I’m grateful, happy and in love with life.  The serious side of my character, associated with my career, remain in various forms.  It’s not necessarily a trait that hinders me or my progress.  It’s difficult the shake free from some features deeply engrained in my being.  I’ve learned to compensate and adjust my attitude to balance my demeanor.  I find my pleasure and excitement in my love of adventure, travel, fitness and the spontaneous freedom life brings.  Spending time with the people I love is where I find the most happiness.  These traits (and others) add up to why you love me.  Don’t wait to enjoy life.  Stop waiting for the right time, place, thing or person to come along.  The last time I checked, “someday” wasn’t an actual day of the week.  There will never be the right time or perfect place to make a decision.  Life is short, fragile and messy.  If you aren’t happy with yourself, your direction or just not loving life, it’s time to change your mindset.  I believe when you change your attitude, you can change your life.  I made that change in my life and I feel so much better every day.  I begin each morning with gratitude and happiness.  I’m excited for my many blessings, but most of all, I’m excited for life.  It’s a privilege to be here and to share this time on earth with you.  When I was working (cop stuff) and would become frustrated with the job, life or whatever, I’d say, “It’s time for an attitude adjustment.”  The moments of reflection always brought me back to reality and the present.  The inward revelations would identify my anxiety or stress issues, so they could be contained or eliminated.  This simple adjustment would put me back on a positive path and fruitful journey.

As we move toward the New Year, and beginning of 2022, stay present and grateful every day.  Life will always have issues, struggles or situations that take us out of our “comfort zone.”   We must recognize and resolve each occurrence with confidence and decisive action.  Don’t hesitate or allow these circumstances to drag you down or create negativity into your life.  Stay positive, focused and happy.  It’s a daily choice, that will pay dividends filled with joy, peace and harmony.  It’s never too late to change your attitude or improve your life.  Opportunities abound when you make the decision to get up and act.  Nothing will ever happen, or change, unless you make the effort and put in the work.  We can make it happen together.  The best is yet to come!
