Wasting Daylight

March 12, 2023

Good morning my friends.  I hope you are doing well and enjoying life.  Did you remember to “spring” forward an hour this morning (a full week before the actual first day of Spring)?  According to the Washingtonian.com, “The clocks will change this weekend—and not for the last time.  There was a moment this past spring when the idea of making daylight saving time permanent seemed somewhat plausible: The U.S. Senate passed legislation in March that would have made March 12, 2023, the last time we ever set our clocks forward.  But that momentum evaporated as the war in Ukraine, inflation, and Don’t Worry Darling drama took up more space in Americans’ heads than feeling groggy twice a year did. The House of Representatives still hasn’t taken up the Senate bill, called the Sunshine Protection Act (though it did hold a hearing).”  Apparently, our government representatives have other issues to deal with, or don’t care (like the president), about what’s in the best interest of the American people. Whether we stay with changing our clocks twice a year or go to a permanent time, it’s beyond our control.  It serves no purpose to stress over silliness that we cannot change.  As we roll into the middle of March, don’t worry about nonsense in life.  Daylight Savings Time is still in effect, so stop procrastinating and start doing what brings joy and happiness into your life.  Focus on what’s in your best interest; for you, your family and those you love.  I have squandered many hours of my adulthood on useless people and things that only create negative vibes.  Now is the time for positive change and a new direction.  The new me has altered course to concentrate my attention on the most important part of life.  The people that I love (hold near and dear to my heart), are what make living this life amazing and incredible.  Use your daylight wisely and enjoy life.

I have been in my happy place for the last couple of weeks.  That translates into me being on the road, travelling and enjoying life with my friends and family.  Making fabulous memories is the best experience!  I am grateful and definitely loving every bit of life (or as much as humanly possible)!  I’m finished wasting time; dwelling on what might have been yesterday, worrying about my past or stressing about what might or might not happen tomorrow.  I am focused on living my life; right here and right now.  The present is the best (and only) place to be for a happy life.  There are many things beyond my control; that I can’t change, alter or just don’t matter.  Why do I worry or stress over what others may think, say or do?  It’s silly; a waste of time, effort and stress; all for no useful reason.  I have a difficult enough time being me.  I am not a theologian, scholar or astrophysicist.  I’m a good person that’s had the opportunity to live and experience life.  In simple terms, I’ve been around the block; maybe a few too many times.  Life has taught me a multitude of lessons; witnessed, learned and lived.  These experiences are a mix of good, bad and everything in between.  Let’s face it, we all deal with a variety of struggles, up, downs, lows and highs during the course of living life.  Even if you spend your days sequestered in your home, life still happens all around you.  You can’t avoid its changes or the path from life to death.  Just when I think I have my life figured out, something happens to change or alter my path.  I’ve discovered it’s fruitless to attempt to resist the direction the universe intends to take me.  It’s much easier to open my heart to the new path, thus enabling myself to recognize the goodness it will create.  It’s necessary to close the past, so I can move unencumbered into a brighter and happier tomorrow.  Life may not be perfect, but it’s still as perfect as I want it to be.

If you’ve read any of my blogs, or know me personally; you probably know that I was born and raised in the foothills of Los Angeles.  I moved away from the Golden State (a sad irony) a little over a year ago.  I love the consistency of the weather; and having the beach, mountains and desert all within a fingertip reach.  I miss those aspects; along with family and friends, but that’s all.  I’m always excited to visit the people I love (who live there), but equally as thrilled to leave the chaos, crowds, traffic, madness and twisted politics behind.  Let’s face it, no matter who you are or where you live, we’re all just human beings doing our best to exist on planet earth.  Most people want to live in peace and harmony.  Then we have those that thrive on manipulation, control, power and hate.  As much as I dislike these individuals, I have no control over them.  I stand strong, loyal and resilient; ready, willing and able to defend America and our freedom.  I remain centered on my beliefs and strive to be the best possible human I can be daily.  I believe in God and I know that good will always triumph over evil.

My life, and how I decide to live it, is my choice.  I’ve done the work to release my past, opening my heart and soul to love. The more I concentrate on who I am, the less misery I’ll have wasting time on others who seek a path of negativity or hate.  There have been times, during my journey, my heart had to be broken for me to open my eyes for a brighter future.  Life is as simple or difficult as I make it.  I really prefer easy, especially at this stage of life.  I’m done with complicated, stress filled or demanding things or individuals.  I’m an open book and happy to share my story and path.  If you’re willing to just be you, then be happy with that and enjoy life.  I’m grateful, happy and excited for the opportunities today will bring.  Each sunrise creates a wealth of new life within each of us.  Don’t waste a precious moment of time or daylight.  Follow your dreams.  They know the way.

Please tune in and join me again next Sunday for more!  The puzzle of life is always changing.  Change can lead to amazing opportunities.  Together, let’s be healthy and strong; mentally, physically and spiritually!

Thanks for your love and support!  Embrace Life!  Be sure to get outside and enjoy nature!

My goal is to be a better me. I want people to be more aware about mental and physical health. We are all humans living on this planet. Let's enjoy our lives, happy and healthy. It's okay to smile and help others along the way.
